i've spent the past few years filled with grief, but i just turned 25 and i finally believe that grief is just the final form of love. i made most of these songs in times where i was filled to the brim with love, love for those around me, love for being alive, love for the woman i've become, but it's very hard for me to think of beautiful things without also thinking of loss. i think its only natural to mourn change and to mourn the people no longer in your life, especially as a trans person, when one of those people is your younger self. Accepting love and grief as a circle, as a transformation, as a singular verb has only expanded my already endless ability to care and love. These songs make me cry and i am so grateful for them.
